Three Ways to Start Your Custom Injection Molding Project
We understand that every client’s situation is different. Some come with fully engineered designs. Others have a physical product they want to replicate. And some have only a concept. That is why we offer three flexible pathways to get your project started.
Option One: You Have a 3D Drawing (STEP Format Preferred)
This is the fastest and most efficient way to begin. A neutral 3D CAD file—preferably in STEP or IGES format—is the industry standard for tooling design . It allows our engineering team to:

Analyze part geometry, undercuts, wall thickness, and draft angles

Determine gate position, ejection system, and cooling channel layout

Calculate part volume, weight, and cycle time accurately
What to send: 3D CAD file (STEP/STP/IGES preferred), 2D engineering drawing with critical dimensions and tolerances marked
If you are unsure whether your design is final—don’t worry. We offer DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback to optimize your product before any tooling begins . Our engineers review wall thickness, draft angles, gate placement, and potential defects, saving you thousands in later modifications .
Option Two: You Have a Physical Sample (No Drawing? No Problem)
Don’t have a 3D drawing? That is not a roadblock. We can work from a physical sample using reverse engineering technology .
What we do: We scan your sample using precision 3D scanning equipment, convert the data into a CAD model, and then design the mold based on that model .
This approach is ideal when:

Option Three: You Have an Idea (Just Tell Us What You Need)
If you have neither a drawing nor a sample—just give us your target size, capacity, and function. Our engineering team will work with you on the design from concept to completion.

What Else Should You Prepare?
Beyond the three pathways above, there are several other pieces of information that will help us give you an accurate quote and deliver the right product:
Material Specification
Clearly state the plastic resin grade you need—whether it is ABS, PC, PP, Nylon, or a sustainable alternative like wheat straw bio-plastic or recycled PP . “Black plastic” is not sufficient; specific grades affect shrinkage, flow, and cost . If your product requires food contact, medical, or EU export compliance, specify standards such as FDA, LFGB, or RoHS .
Tolerance Requirements
Mark critical dimensions and precision tolerance standards on your 2D drawing. Without clear tolerance data, molds are typically manufactured to general industrial tolerance , which may not meet your high-precision requirements .
Production Volume & Timeline
Inform us of your expected annual output and batch order quantity. Mass production projects usually benefit from multi-cavity molds to reduce unit costs, while prototype projects may use single-cavity or aluminum tooling . Also share your target timeline for sample approval and production .
Surface Finish & Texture
Specify whether you need mirror polishing, matte finish, custom texture, or anti-scratch treatment . Different finishing requirements affect both mold processing costs and lead time.

Step 1: NDA Execution
Your idea stays yours. We sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before any technical discussion begins .
Step 2: DFM Review
Our engineering team reviews your design within 24–48 hours, verifies structural rationality, and identifies potential demolding or shrinkage risks . We provide detailed feedback with optimization suggestions .
Step 3: Quotation
Based on the finalized design and your production requirements, we provide a transparent quote covering tooling cost, part price, and estimated lead time.
Step 4: Mold Design & Manufacturing
Once you approve the quote, our design team creates a 3D model of the mold. We manufacture the tooling in-house using advanced CNC machining and EDM technology .
Step 5: Sampling & Validation
We run T1 samples and provide a first article inspection report with dimensional data . You approve the samples before we move to mass production.
Step 6: Mass Production & Delivery
After sample approval, we move into full production—with in-process inspections, quality control, packaging, and shipping all handled under one roof.
